Chipperfield Choral Society rehearses and gives concerts in and around the beautiful Hertfordshire village of Chipperfield. Founded in 1947, we have more than 70 members, many of whom come from Chipperfield and the surrounding area.
Our repertoire is wide and varied. Every year, just before Christmas, there are traditional Christmas Concerts in the wonderful setting of St Paul’s village church in Chipperfield. In the spring, the concert features a major work given in a larger venue and in the summer we return to St Paul’s for a concert of lighter music.
Recent Spring concerts have included Gloria - Vivaldi, Requiem - Faure and in Spring 2023 a wonderful concert of Handel's Messiah marking Delia Meehan's retirement as our Musical Director.
In 2021 the Hammond Award was established to support and promote singing for young people of all ages by awarding grants. Please refer to the Hammond Award page for more details of how to apply for grants.
